Welcome to the OWH PIZZAZ
skip!
If you are arriving from
Cindy’s Card Company, you are in the right spot.
If you would like to go
back to the beginning, visit the stars and stamps blog here.
My first card is another
one that I CASE’d from Debby Hughes. This is an extension of acrylic block
stamping. I scribbled 2 colors of water
based markers on an acrylic block and spritzed the block with water. This technique take a little bit to master
to determine just the right amount of water.
I finished it off with a flourish and jewels.
Liquid pearls add interest to the cupcake as sprinkles.
And finally, the heart is heat
embossed with a bejeweled flourish on the base layer.
Don’t forget to go down to
Thursday’s post to leave a comment for some ***Blog
Candy***.
The next stop on the skip
is Barb Housner’s – a fellow cheesehead.
Barb organized this little skip so make sure you leave her little extra
blog love!
All 3 cards are beautiful- but the layout, colors and the dots embossing folder make the cupcake card outstanding!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
What a nice group of cards! That first technique is a new one to me... I may have to play around with that... I like the artistic feeling it results in. The pearl pen as sprinkles on the cupcake is brilliant! I need to get some more pearl pens now.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! You have cornered the market on pizzaz! I have little water spritzers but haven't used them yet, but I've watched youtube videos like what you've done on the 1st card so now you've inspired me to try it! how'd you do that beautiful flourish? It's lovely. And I also don't have liquid pearls so that's a new technique for me to consider! I love heat embossing, so your heart card is one I admire!
ReplyDeleteI too love the sprinkles on the cupcake, adds just enough pizzaz to catch the eye. Good job.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards. I love how elegant the flourish one looks with the splash of color behind it. And, your other cards look wonderful too and like you many times I used dry embossing to give my cards a textured punch affect. Your cupcake looks delicious and appealing with all those sprinkles.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy using water based inks and markers with water too. The end result is always different. I like all your bling on that card as well! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNeat cards. They are all so elegant. I have not seen anyone use the splash of color like that. Love the effect. Thanks for sharing your talent.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful! I have not seen the color splash technique before, I'm going to have to try it! I tend to shy away from shiny bling, but you made it look so fabulous on the flourish, I may need to reconsider.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I've never seen that stamp block inking technique and I'm excited to try it. This one turned out so cool! Love the other two cards too. That heart is so detailed and matches the DP perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOn first look, I thought the first card was done with alcohol inks. Thanks for sharing what you did with the watercolor markers - I've put in on my list of things to try out {it's getting pretty long just with this blog skip!} On the 3rd card, the black scalloped edge really compliments the black flourish to tie it all together - wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of the acrylic block technique but that is very cool. I really like the random splotching of the color and the nice stamp over it. Perfect pearls is another great way to add dimension. Looks really yummy.
ReplyDeleteI love the cupcake card. Thanks for the idea about using liquid pearls as sprinkles. I have to make a bunch of cupcakes for my sister's quilt retreat and the cupcakes needed something.
ReplyDeleteThese are all really great! I'll have to give the water technique a try...and I guess it's time to buy some pearl pen! Love the flourishes with bling! Really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe little touches you've added to all 3 cards are perfect. They really focus one's eye. Love your clean style.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to try that water technique with the flourish on your first card. The final product looks so pretty and simple. Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteAnother fun technique to try. I love the watercolor look and the flourish really looks impressive. The pearl pen on the cupcake icing looks great too.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the idea of using the spritzing technique. I creates a wonderfully free design on your card.
ReplyDeleteAll three cards are great. The spritzing adds a nice swirl -- the pearl pen adds some nice pizzaz too. I need to get me one of those. Thanks for sharing your great ideas and techniques.

ReplyDeleteOh Wow, I love your card. I have always wanted to try that color blocking but have not yet. I like the way you blended the colors and the bling on you flourish.
